Future of Blue Ridge Field

Blue Ridge Field will be a recreational and gardening facility that will bring fresh opportunities to the people of Oconee County. The basic elements to be included at Blue Ridge Field were decided by a needs assessment of the local community. In an effort to accommodate the variety of people living around Blue Ridge Field, the park will feature the following:

• a state-of-the-art playground
• a walking track
• an athletic field
• gardens and public gardening plots
• picnic shelters
• Memorial Plaza , a walkway of engraved brick pavers memorializing the students and faculty from Blue Ridge High School and other community members

 

 

Blue Ridge Field will be built in three separate stages:

Stage I Fill dirt Grading Drainage Irrigation Retaining walls Sod Field

Stage II Soil plants Mulch Shelter and picnic tables Driveway Pavers Playground Entry sign

Stage III Walking Track Restroom Plants Benches Security light

Projected Cost $538,400.90 .
